Levitate offers bereavement, parental, STD/LTD, and other leaves (personal, voting, FMLA, Jury Duty, etc.)
Bereavement
Real Magic provides between three to five days off with pay to full-time salaried employees who are regularly scheduled to work more than 30 hours per week to mourn, as well as handle matters related to a death in the family.
Relationship- Immediate Family Member: spouse, parent, sibling and child
- Any missed workdays (up to 40 hours) that happen to fall within five consecutive calendar days of the death or funeral of immediate family members may be used as Bereavement Leave.
- A maximum of five consecutive calendar days may be taken at the staff member's convenience as long as one of the days includes either the day of death or the day of the funeral.
Note: For purposes of this policy, parent and child also includes step-parent, step-sibling, step-child, an adopted child and a child for whom the staff member was a legal guardian.
Relationship- Other Family Member: grandparent, aunt, uncle, great-grandparent, in-laws
- Any missed workdays (up to 24 hours) that happen to fall within three consecutive calendar days of the death or funeral of other family members may be used as Bereavement Leave.
- A maximum of three consecutive calendar days may be taken at the staff member's convenience as long as one of the days includes either the day of death or the day of the funeral.
Employees requesting Bereavement Leave will do so under the Paid Time Off (PTO) portal in Paylocity.
Parental
Eligible employees are granted 4 weeks of Paid Parental Leave upon the birth or adoption of a child. Mothers who give birth are entitled to an extended benefit of 12 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. Additionally, further paid leave may be accessible through our Short-Term Disability coverage, in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions, any applicable state-mandated programs, and our Paid Time Off policy. Please note that any paid leave will run concurrently with any unpaid leave provided under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Eligible employees must meet the following criteria:
- Have been employed with the company for at least 3 months (the 3 months do not need to be consecutive).
- Be a full-time, regular employee (temporary, part-time and intern employees are not eligible for this benefit).
In addition, employees must meet one of the following criteria:
- Have given birth to a child.
- Be a spouse or committed partner of a woman who has given birth to a child.
Short-Term Disability through Unum
Real Magic Inc. provides full-time employees with a Short-Term Disability insurance benefit through Unum at NO COST to you. Disability Insurance provides benefits that replace part of your lost income when you become unable to work due to a covered injury or illness.

Long-Term Disability through Unum

Voting Leave
If your work schedule prevents you from voting on Election Day, Real Magic will allow you a reasonable time off to vote. The time when you can go to vote will be at the discretion of your manager.

FMLA
Real Magic complies with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and will grant up to 12 weeks of leave during a 12-month period to eligible employees (or up to 26 weeks of military caregiver leave). Employees who have worked at Real Magic for a total of at least 12 months and who have worked at least 1,250 hours during the twelve months immediately prior to the start of the leave may be eligible for unpaid leave under FMLA. FMLA leave may run concurrently with other leaves.

Jury Duty
If you are summoned for jury duty, notify your manager as soon as possible to make scheduling arrangements. Up to two weeks of Jury Duty Leave in a rolling 12-month period will be paid upon proof of jury duty service.


Personal Leave
An unpaid personal leave of absence of up to two weeks may be granted upon request to employees for important pressing personal needs, at the discretion of your manager with approval from Human Resources. During an approved leave of absence, group benefits may continue, provided you pay your share of premiums through payroll deductions to the Company.
